When Converse unveiled the new and improved Chuck Taylor All-Star II back in 2015, it seemed there was little left to improve upon. Sure, fancy leather models and wacky colorways have dropped since, but the classic All-Star remains the ultimate go-to sneaker.

But Nike, which owns Converse, seriously just upped the sneaker ante with its latest gamble: releasing the Chuck Taylor All-Star II in its proprietary Flyknit material.
